Job Description Candidate is familiar performing within a fixed price, performance-based environment where performance is based on pre-determined Service Level Agreement’s (SLA’s) or Acceptable Levels of Performance (ALP’s). Performs detailed and technically in-depth site survey functions at user locations as required in order to assess/analyze site preparedness, develop implementation plans and associated cost estimates. Coordinates with users, site/base support and or facilities personnel, network manager(s) and controllers, long haul and local carriers for installation, cutover, activation, deactivation planning and execution. Performs installation/de-installation/upgrade/interface actions associated with network components at user locations. Facilitates and finalizes all aspects of site acceptance. Provides functional guidance, supervision, technical support, training and quality assurance/quality control to Associate and Intermediate personnel. Supports senior staff as required and ensures customer requirements and project milestones are met
Basic Qualifications Network Operations and Maintenance:
Experience with one of more: alarm surveillance, fault management, configuration management, LAN maintenance, performance management
Expertise in one or more of the following: IP routing, QoS, traffic engineering, DNS; ATM switching; TDM switching; Optical; Crypto; Network appliances (WAN acceleration, etc)
Ability to work in a team focused, dynamic environment
Performs a variety of difficult assignments associated with monitoring and controlling computer operating systems. Supervises and manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of business systems. Optimizes system operation and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning. Provides assistance to users in accessing and using business systems. Sets up and maintains the following devices/vendors: CISCO, Juniper, Promina, Safenet, Ciena, Sycamore, Ericsson Analyzes system faults and troubleshoots and runs diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems. Evaluates and installs developed software during various phases of testing. Reviews and prepares documentation for systems, tests and installation of software. Investigates and recommends methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Initiates preventive maintenance on the operating systems as well as repair to system/environment problems. Administers systems/environment solutions for multiple projects with varying schedules. Interfaces with vendors for trouble calls
