Manage people for product development programs or projects focused on the delivery of a product through the design process, and into a finished state for external customers.

Manage people for product development programs or projects involving department or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a product or computer-based system through the design process, and into a finished state for external customers. Plan and direct resource schedules as well as project budgets. Monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customer on technical matters. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the product/program/project on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interacts internally and externally with executive management, providing negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area preferred. Eight or more years of project management, product design or related experience preferred.

_Key Accountabilities_

  • Developand oversee execution of an integrated global strategic plan which provideshigh quality data that enables efficient and effective decision making tomaximize the value of assets.

  • Overseethe development and maintenance of the cross functional timeline supporting theoverall program strategy- highlighting dependencies, milestones, deliverables,and critical path; create timeline scenarios as needed and facilitatecross-functional reviews.

  • Facilitateteam development and management of program risks and mitigation plans asappropriate.

  • Identifyand escalate issues associated with team resourcing to functional management asappropriate.

  • Developall key strategic and program plans and drive aligned, comprehensive plan toprogram strategy.

  • Leads/facilitatesall PM activities supporting program via direct reports and partnering withother functional area staff supporting program (i.e. matrix environment)

  • Stewardof comprehensive plan and other key strategic/planning documents

  • Primaryconduit for information flows cross-functionally within the program (i.e.across sub-teams and functions)

  • Advocateand drive for overall project execution quality

  • Oversee,develop and disseminate relevant program related communications and dashboardsto functional areas and management, and governance forums

  • Leadthe detailed planning of development timelines and resource requirements,highlighting tradeoffs and co-dependencies

  • Recruit,train, manage and develop a diverse team of Program Managers, who can each leadindividual Program teams to success and grow within the organization

  • Focuson developing high-performing cross-functional teams

  • Atthe individual Program level, work with Program Managers to identify criticalpath, bottlenecks, dependencies, risks and risk mitigation plans for allprograms, and implement all appropriate documentation for successful productdevelopment in accordance with corporate quality systems

  • Identifybottlenecks and risks across the organization, which add risk to the overallroadmap

  • Communicatethe strategy and project priorities across the organization, to ensurealignment of all teams and functions

  • Measureand report key performance indicators (KPI) that track progress on the keydeliverables, and communicate regularly to senior executive team

  • Participatein and support strategic decision-making in the formal strategic planningprocess and also on an ongoing basis with regards to tradeoffs in the business.

  • Sometravel will be required.


_Qualifications_

  • BA/BSin a related field. MA desirable. Experience in lieu of education accepted.

  • Minimumof 12 years total relevant experience (including industry, project management,or academia), with at least 9 years in a project management role.

  • Minimum5 years of Program Management leadership experience, with track record ofsuccess leading teams and supervising other project managers.
