* Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of ER or Central Admissionspatients and admission of individuals who have hospital-based outpatienttesting or procedures. * Ensures accurate patient information is collected and that patients areaware of hospital policies and procedures. * Interviews incoming patients or representatives and enters informationrequired for admission into computer database and prints a patient chart. * Representative enters orders for ancillary departments and initiatesadditional forms as directed by the other units in the hospital. * Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. * Responsible for collecting payments when applicable. * Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities. * Works with limited daily supervision and frequent informationalsupervision. * Performs all other duties as assigned. Education: High school graduation or G.E.D. equivalent preferred. CPR preferredby completion of the unit-specific orientation and before working independently. Experience: 6 months experience in hospital admitting preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities: Requires the ability to prioritize work and function calmly instressful situations. Ability to work all shifts, including weekends andholidays. Prefer medical terminology.
