The noise level in the environment is moderate. Performance of custodianduties requires a wide range of physical movements. The physical demandsdescribed here are representative of those that must be met by an employee tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of the job. This positioninvolves varied hours including day, evening, weekend, and holidayhours. Work is generally performed indoors although such duties as cleaningwindows, keeping immediate outside area free of trash and debris, cleaningashtrays, shoveling snow, and maintaining sidewalks and entryways areperformed outdoors so exposure to temperature changes will exist. The workermust operate and maintain a variety of equipment and utilize variouschemicals. As such the worker may be exposed to a variety of safety hazardssuch as infectious material and blood borne pathogens. The job site evaluationperformed on this position indicates that while performing the duties of thisjob, the employee is constantly required to reach forward and do simplegrasping; frequently to constantly required to stand and push/pull;frequently required to walk, lift, carry, bend/stoop, twist, reachbelow the waist, power grasp, and perform cervical flexion and cervicalrotation; occasionally to frequently required to climb stairs,crouch/kneel/squat, reach above the shoulder, do fine manipulation,perform cervical extension, and work at heights; occasionally required tosit, reach horizontally, reach overhead, and perform cervicalsidebending; and rare or on an occasional basis required to crawl and be ina quadruped position. Physical demands are described as very heavy requiringmaterial handling demands that can exceed 100 lbs. occasionally, and/or inexcess of 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 lbs. offorce constantly in order to move objects).
