Preferred Qualifications

The Oracle Flash Storage Array Storage Area Network (SAN) team is a team of software engineers doing design, development, and maintenance of the “SAN subsystem” of the Flash Storage product series. This software component implements the standards-based interface via which external hosts and applications write and read data to and from the storage array within a Storage Area Network.

The opening is for a test engineer to help maintain the lab and testing environment working closely with the development team. The SAN subsystem is large and intricate, requiring ongoing testing to meet continually evolving industry needs. This candidate should have a culture of being relentless when it comes to getting things done and will not be denied to help solve a problem.

Additional Qualifications.

Knowledge of Ethernet and Fibre Channel analyzers is a big plus.

Ability to code in C and Scripting.

Comfortable with SCSI standards.

Understanding of networking and storage technologies.

Experience writing test plans.

Good communication skills.

Hands-on experience in establishing testing environment and troubleshooting.

Additional Responsibilities.

Design, execute and automate test cases for the FS SAN system.

Setup, upgrade and support lab environment for testing.

Work closely and coordinate with the development team.

Provide test status report to the SAN team on an on-going basis.

Perform and track the Flash Storage performance (example: IOPS) on an on-going basis.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
