Open Distribution (OD) is Travelport s methodology to develop thearchitecture and Next Generation APIs for consumers of travel content.Travelport is seeking a Senior OD Services Platform Architect to drivearchitecture and rollout common reusable technical platform components andassociated services. Example components are Eventing, AsynchronousProcessing tooling, Interaction Manager, Notification Service, CDN,API Management tooling, Customer onboarding tools, Billing, Reportingand Monitoring, Toolkit libraries, Identity Manager, EFDS and Ref DataServicesThe role includes identifying opportunities, gathering requirements frommultiple projects and converting them to enterprise needs, and prioritizingthem. It also includes creating a business justification, technical strategyand architecture, and oversight of design and implementation. The candidatewill show technical leadership, and will constantly look for emergingtechnologies, evaluate their applicability for Travelport, and publish EApositioning papers.The OD Platform Architect role supports other architecture areas such asSolution Architecture, Information Architecture, Service architecture etc.on platform aspects. He/she will create and maintain Bricks and SolutionBuilding Blocks; and will represent Platform Architecture team in peerreviews for his/her area. Understand the wider commercial operatingenvironment and goals of the business.Contributes to establishment and ongoing development of roadmap for definedarea.Effective key stakeholders engagement to influence and alignbusiness/functional areas with established technology roadmaps.Leads one or more projects from initiation to close on budget.Able to work effectively cross functionally and lead matrixed resources.Key Responsibilities * Drive architecture and rollout common reusable technical platformcomponents and services. * Gather requirements and translate those into an enterprise solution. * Create business justification and document architecture, align withtechnical strategy, oversee design and implementation. * Contributes to establishment and ongoing development of roadmap fordefined area. * Leads one or more projects from initiation to close. * Able to work effectively cross functionally and lead matrixedresources. * Knows and applies the Travelport End to End Delivery Model processes,Investment Framework, Architecture Process and tools to ensure production ofquality deliverables. * Evaluates the project needs and recommends an appropriate blend ofarchitecture documentation, diligence, and resources to meet project needs. * Demonstrates the ability to effectively facilitate meetings and/orproject discussions and establishes metrics for measuring key projectdeliverables. * Demonstrates LoB/functional area portfolio level knowledge andunderstanding of the architectures and dependencies. * Ensures compliance with TEP (Travelport Enterprise Process),identifies risks, dependencies, gaps, misalignment, and technical debtand develops mitigation strategies for projects. * Contributes expertise to other Architects and Associates in projectassessment, technical approach, conflict resolution, architecturetechnics and staffing requirements. * Can effectively provide the control and governance required to deliveron time and on budget. * Understand technical needs of projects and convert them into enterpriserequirements.
