The Navigators Department Assistant (On Call) in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Department Assistant shall serve The Navigators and fulfill theresponsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling,values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into thenations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling amongthe lost.This position serves as an on-call employee to support Mail Service and FrontDesk functions as needed.2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMail Service Responsibilities Take direction from the Postal Clerk Specialist for all Mail Services tasks. Receive, sort and deliver all incoming mail from the US Post Office,FedEx and UPS. Prepare outgoing mail for pick up by US Post Office, FedEx and UPS. Process outgoing mail through the postal meter. Perform pickup and delivery of mail in the HQ Building. Stay compliant with rules and regulations for the US Post Office,FedEx and UPS. Administer bulk mailings. When directed, be the main point of contact for all communication withvendors, contractors, the US Post Office, FedEx and UPS. Perform Pickup and Delivery of mail in the HQ Building. Perform other duties as assigned.Front Desk Responsibilities Take direction from the Facilities Administrative Supervisor for allFront Desk tasks. Answer all inbound calls which may include multiple lines and extensionsusing professional etiquette. Transfer and direct calls to the party the caller requests or determinedwhere the caller should be directed, based on information about the purposeof the call. Receive and relay messages as required. Kindly and appropriately assist callers with questions. Provide customers with information as requested and handle otherdirectory assistance queries . Greet and register guests entering the building positively, warmly andusing professional etiquette. Monitor visitor and staff access and maintain security awareness andprocedures. Announce to the appropriate Navigator Staff when visitors arrive forappointments. Direct persons to the correct destination in the building. Maintain appointment schedule as necessary to perform professionalreception duties. Process large groups of guests for special events which includes badgename badge creating and printing. Maintain high level of confidentiality and protect staff and guestpersonal information. Provide an appropriately clean and neat work environment. Perform duties as assigned by the company Emergency Operations Plan inthe event of an emergency. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.3. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and the Mission of TheNavigators. Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. High character and integrity and reflect the love of Christ in interactions. Knowledge of typing correspondences, reports and other documents. High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior mail services experience a plus. Experience with a phone switchboard system a plus. Proficient in using up to date versions of Microsoft applications suchas Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. Ability to perform routine tasks and repetitive tasks accurately andefficiently. Ability to maintain records and files for accurate billing. Ability to lift or move equipment/materials weighting up to 50 poundswithout accommodations and willingness seek assistance onequipment/materials over 50 pounds. Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy. Strong communications and interpersonal skills with the ability toprovide customer service in a courteous manner to and work effectively withdiverse groups of people at various levels within an organization. Willingness to stay current with US Postal Regulations. Able to communicate well face to face and telephonically. Able to work well with others and demonstrate appropriate professionaletiquette.
