Enterprise Systems Design Engineer to support the IT Services organization onthe JRDC program based at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL or SchrieverAir Force Base Colorado Springs CO.Duties include design, documentation, implementation and testing ofenterprise class server infrastructure, virtualization and standardoperating systems, and applications. Will be responsible for derivingsystem-level requirements from architectural guidelines and projectobjectives.Responsible for developing detailed designs with supporting implementation,test and transition plans. Will also be responsible for ushering proposedsystem changes through the Configuration Management process to successfulimplementation for transition to the O&M RBA teams. Job Description: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification andvalidation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysesfor total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total systemproduct to include: concept, design, fabrication, test,installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical andsystematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systemssolutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies,requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customerrequirements into hardware and software specifications.Basic Qualifications:Degree in Information Systems or related discipline and8 years of professional hands-on experience in design and implementation ofthe following technologies: VMware (vSphere and ESXi Management) andEnterprise enclosures and blade servers.Strong working knowledge andexperience with VMware, Microsoft suit of products with emphasis inSharePoint 2013 and/or Project Server 2010 and Linux.The candidate must havefull engineering lifecycle experience to support project development.Thecandidate must have experience with risk management and design engineeringwithin a process oriented environment.The candidate must possess one of thefollowing certifications: CompTIA Security+ with CE enrollment, SecurityCertified Network Professional (SCNP), Systems Security CertifiedPractitioner (SSCP), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).Thecandidate must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret level securityclearance. Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or ITrelated discipline.
