POSITION DESCRIPTION:Jobs in IT Engineering are responsible for researching, designing,developing, documenting, testing and deploying new technologies in orderto enhance credit union operations. They develop and apply models,processes, tools, standards, roadmaps and methodologies to support theorganization's technical infrastructure as it relates to systems,networks, servers, storage and telecommunications. They ensure that newsystems are implemented with adequate capacity and appropriate businesscontinuity and disaster capabilities.Advanced IT professional providing technical leadership in multiple areas ofthe organization's technical infrastructure and effectively contributing totechnology innovation.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: Serves as a key technical resource and expert for multiple areas of thetechnical infrastructure. Creates technical blueprints, translating, logical architecture intophysical specifications. Directs and oversees the implementation effort. Troubleshoots most problems within assigned area(s), providing faultisolation and resolution that may be complicated by technologyinterdependency. Analyzes cross-technology/platform issues and addressesproblems factoring in an understanding of the current and future architecture. Leads the evaluation of new technologies relative to their domain(s).Proposes technology investments supported by a through technical analysis andbusiness case. Serves as a leading participant in industry forms, bringing new technicalinformation into the organization and disseminating it to appropriate ITcolleagues. Specifies the monitoring points to assess performance of the technologiesin their domain(s). Recommends the necessary actions to ensure optimalperformance and reliability. Develops disaster recovery and contingency goals for their areas ofexpertise. Provides guidance and technical coaching to les experienced staff. Provides input to RFI and RFP process related to their areas of expertise. Interacts with major providers at the technical expert level to addressmission critical issues.EDUCATION:BS in technical field or equivalent. Preferred: post-graduate classesbeneficial.MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:8 + years of relevant experience (networking, security, systemsadministration, Disaster Recovery, Citrix server administration, storagetechnology, server management, etc)TECHNICAL OR SPECIALIZED KNOWLDGE/SKILLS: Must be able to function as a key resource and expert within the companyfor multiple technical areas. Strong understanding of IT systems/data security as it relates tofinancial institutions or other industries that must comply with federalregulations. Ability to apply seasoned expertise in multiple technologies to addressinteroperability issues. Must demonstrate a good understanding of new technologies and theirapplicability relative to assign domain(s). Must demonstrate a strong understanding of the current and futuretechnology architecture, including the inter-operability of technologies. Ability to provide guidance and training to other IT colleagues in theirareas of expertise. Understands business trends, strategies and the direction technology musttake to support the business. Strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening) withspecific ability to translate technical details to a non-technical audience. Excellent analytical skills. Proficiency with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Micosoft Project and Visio.CERTIFICATIONS:None required. PREFERRED: CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, MCSA/MCSE/MCSM,CISSP, CCA/CCEE/CCIA, and/or VCPPHYSICAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stay calm and collected in high stress situations (i.e. -security incident). Strong moral/ethical character. Ability to respond on an on-call basis, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of tme.
