Position Summary and Essential Duties Under limited supervision, analyze and develop system requirements, program specifications and code/unit test to meet business requirements/specifications for large projects. Develop or contribute to deliverables for additional levels of testing and support test execution including system level and Integration tests. Frequently leads large projects. Resolve production problems of medium to high complexity. Provides guidance to those in less senior positions. The incumbents of this position are expected to perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Specific Information

  • Experience leading efforts in an application development organization for integrated systems

  • New Development, on-going maintenance, and support for systems within the management team

  • Design, code, and test HTML, Java JMS and Web Services (SOAP) applications based on specifications and business requirements.

  • Design, code, and test SQL code based on specifications and business requirements.

  • Analyze existing Java applications and modify code to support new business requirements

  • Analyze program defects and make corrections

  • Participate in design and code reviews with peers

  • Complete system documentation

  • Ability to work and negotiate with technical and non-technical coworkers to accomplish goals

  • Build code/test to meet system requirements.

  • Work with technical leadership to drive innovation and create best practices within the team.

  • Present technical ideas and high level concepts and solutions to internal and external team members.

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Contribute to a positive culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements where appropriate

Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Requires five (5) years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
