Job Description The Video Engineer III works as part of a team providing Audio Visual (AV), Video Teleconferencing and Video Surveillance System design, test and installation to US government customers worldwide. This position provides leadership in engineering, planning, procuring, documenting and implementing systems in virtual and traditional IT architectures. Responsibilities for the Video Engineer III include:
-Designs, configures and implements control systems, AV distribution systems, surveillance systems and sound systems.
-Develops and implements design documentation, installation plans, support agreements, test and acceptance plans, and other documentation as required by customers.
-Evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, performs problem isolation and resolution, monitors, tunes, sets standards and maintains a range of Audio/Video and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) components and systems.
-Provides client consulting and training on control, interfaces, and use of the Audio/Video and VTC equipment.
-Researches, evaluates, and recommends new Audio/Video and VTC equipment and technologies.
-Utilizes monitoring, performance analysis, software and hardware equipment to trouble shoot and isolate problems, gauge performance, and record activity.
-Devises solutions to complex operation problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.
The Video Engineer III performs these functions per project requirements and equipment including: audio and video switchers, video display devices (projectors, TV Monitors, Plasma Monitors, Video Wall), H.320 multi-point control units, bridges, H.323 gateways, computer display interfaces, Internet Protocol devices and telecommunications transport facilities.
This position may lead and direct the work of others and typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected; works with little day-to-day direction.
Required Skills -Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology -5-7 years of experience required including a minimum of three (3) years of experience designing and implementing large scale Video Surveillance systems including Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Internet Protocol (IP) cameras, Video Management Software (VMS), network infrastructure and cabling.-Travel may be required. -This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Serco to staff it only with U.S. Citizens.- Manufacturer training and certifications highly desirable with industry leading IP Surveillance product manufacturers including Pelco/Schneider, Milestone, Axis, Avigilon. Department Our services in the Defense business unit support all branches of the U.S. military and the intelligence community. Our teams provide a variety of support services related to the maintenance and life cycle sustainment of US Navy, US Coast Guard and Customs and Border Patrol fielded C5I systems.
