Delta County Health Program Manager in Delta, Colorado

POSITION:Health Program ManagerESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Responsible for performing, developing and coordinating professionalcapacity building and educational services for individuals and communitygroups in a variety of health settings. In addition, this position willprovide technical and professional support as well as coordination anddirection in the planning, execution, training and management of publichealth emergency operations and response in Delta County.DUTIES:A. Perform, develop and coordinate professional capacity building andeducational services for individuals and community groups in a variety ofpublic health settings.B.Provide technical, professional, coordination and direction in theplanning, execution, training, and management of public health emergencyoperations and response for Delta County.1.Create and maintain an active wellness collaborative within Delta County.2. Provide leadership for community capacity building and strategic planningfocused on health education, disease prevention and health promotions.3. Initiate a comprehensive wellness program throughout Delta County thataddresses social justice issues and health disparities.4. Investigate, apply for and obtain funding to continue the wellnessproject and manage budgets.5.A. Prepare and maintain Public Health Emergency Operations Plans and PlanAnnexes for: 1) potential public health emergency situations and 2)day-to-day Standard Operating Procedures.6. Disseminate plans, track training needs and classes, and coordinatewith appropriate public health and emergency preparedness agencies throughoutDelta County, Region 10, and State Departments/organizations.7. Provide coordination for and compliance with Contract Deliverables as citedin the Scope(s) of Work for CDPHE Emergency Preparedness Contract.8. Provide assistance with emergency preparedness plans with other publicpartners, especially ESF8 (medical) partners as requested, and as timepermits.9. Serve as secondary point of contact (after County Emergency Manager)for the routine notification of volunteers for training opportunities,drills, and exercises, or assisting Departmentstaff.10. Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.REQUIRED:1. Graduation from an accredited University with a BS or BA degree in HealthEducation, Nursing, Education, Counseling, Communications or Public Relations2. Five years experience in public health, education, communitydevelopment or similar setting3. One (1) year experience in community agency collaboration and coordination (A combination of education and experience could waive a specificrequirement.)WAGE:$44,028 to $52,855 per year.
