Job Title Accounting Specialist 2 Organization Central Business Job Description The nation s premier launch service provider is seeking analytical,detail-oriented, enthusiastic Accountants to further its mission to savelives, explore the universe, and connect the world.This position is responsible for the application of cash for various accountsand initiating the month-end processes including the allocation of overheadpools. Duties include managing Fixed Assets & related depreciation,supporting year-end audits, preparing journals and accountreconciliations, and supporting other accountants. Perform special projectsas assigned. Workload will vary with month-end and year-end being heavy.Occasional overtime may be required.The successful candidate will be able to apply principles of accounting tosupport the generation of financial information and financial reports; whichhelp leaders drive business results and shape the future. Maintain or overseethe control of accounts and records in such areas as cash, fixed assets,and expenses. Protect and support the enterprise and our customers bycompiling, analyzing, and verifying financial information, and preparingjournals and account reconciliations in keeping with accounting and auditingpolicies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles. Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and recordsin such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income.Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, preparereports, and review and verify accuracy. Prepares balance sheet and profitand loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and otheraccounting schedules and reports. May design, modify, install, and/ormaintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financialtransactions.
