The Navigant Consulting Healthcare Performance Excellence candidate will have experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in the area of performance improvement within Hospitals, Health Plans or Physician Groups. Specifically, the successful candidate will have expertise in manipulating data using Excel, Access and other spreadsheets, coordinating team work products, and the ability to lead teams.
This role can be based in any of the following locations: Chicago, IL; Minneapolis, MN; Tampa, FL; Denver, CO; Washington, DC; Seattle, WA; Indianapolis, IN; New York, NY.
This position includes responsibilities in both leveraging and delivering quality, high-level, consulting services to clients for the Navigant Healthcare Provider Practice. The following sections describe the specific areas of prime importance in the execution of these responsibilities:
Deliver industry expertise and management consulting services in support of client engagements in the Healthcare Practice
Lead transformational change focused on financial improvement of multiple large healthcare systems, own project not component
Clearly articulate financial results of multiple projects and speak about process and sub-process measures for more than one area
Establish account management relationships with key client decision makers
Identify key industry issues and develop a practice response
Assist in the development of industry alliances and relationships within vertical markets
Provide delivery assurance support for engagements with targeted clients
Mentor Navigant staff on assignments within the account delivering services
Provide visible leadership within the account and the practice.
Leads consulting projects Statement of Work, Project Plans, Writes Proposals, Presents to Client Executive; Facilitates, Advises and Persuades key decision makers and influencers
Ten years (minimum) of experience in clinical operations, performance improvement labor and nonlabor optimization, clinical operations and beyond focused on in a provider setting, much of which is at the management level
5+ years delivering programs in a consulting environment; driving complex, multi-faceted, multi-site, application/operational change/improvement programs with annual budgets of $10 million plus (30 + resources)
Flexible, positive, clear interpersonal and communication skills with ability to facilitate the exchange of information within all levels of NCI as well as a provider based, client organization, including, but not limited to, surgeons, anesthesiologists, hospital executives, and other professional and ancillary staff
Ability to develop and monitor performance metrics at all levels of operations both clinical and nonclinical
10+ years rigorous project/program management leadership of complex provider deliverables with 5 of those years in larger provider systems
Adroit use of methodology and leadership within the project management setting; PMO experience a plus
Knowledge of and familiarity with IT solutions and data bases which are integral to enabling efficient and appropriate to quality and throughput of care
Capacity to adapt and lead others to understand and accept values, strategies, goals and plans in response to changing business conditions
Ability and willingness to travel full time
Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously
Self-motivator with ability to work independently
Plan, direct, and coordinate work activities of others
Frequently travels by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location
