  • SUMMARY*

Provides leadership to a regional corrosion control team for the Processing & Gathering Regional assets.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES*

-Responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members on a daily basis.

-Manages of all aspects of cathodic protection and coatings for pipelines, plants, and terminals as well as internal corrosion mitigation.

-Provides technical assistance to field Corrosion Techs and staff in matters regarding cathodic protection, protective coatings, material selection, corrosion inhibitors/micro-biocides, and data management.

-Prepares detailed engineering evaluations to determine the most practical and cost effective means of protecting both new and existing pipeline and tank facilities from corrosion.

-Monitors CPDM data for gaps and determines course of action.

-Collaborates and interfaces/supports engineering and projects.

-Oversees administrative matters related to supervising a team of Corrosion Techs along with preparing budget requests and work plans.

-Represents the company at professional societies, provides technical support for governmental audits, and assists in the development of practices and procedures related to corrosion mitigation.

-Maintains and demonstrates a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, employees, and the general public.

  • EDUCATION*

-Minimum undergraduate degree in engineering or applicable technical degree required.

-NACE Level 3 or 4 Certification, Corrosion Specialist or PE required.

  • EXPERIENCE*

-Minimum 10 years of comprehensive corrosion experience demonstrating the ability to successfully deal with circumstances relating to corrosion causes and formulating solutions to these problems.

-Ability to solve or manage the resolution of complex problems associated with chemical treatment, material failure analysis, cathodic protection and protective coatings.

-Strong leadership capabilities and one who has exhibited a high level of knowledge in the science of corrosion technology, metallurgy, cathodic protection, materials selection, and the physical sciences.

-Supervisory experience preferred.
