Want to join this process-driven, results-oriented group?The Product Support & Distribution Division currently has an opening for aDistribution Supervisor located in our Denver, CO facility. As aDistribution Supervisor, you supervise hourly personnel in the receipt,processing, packaging, storage, order filling and shipment of parts toCaterpillar dealers, Distribution Centers and Regional Distribution Centersto support the end users of Caterpillar equipment. The successful candidatewill also be responsible for writing and updating Standard Work as well asSafe Job Procedures and performing SFMEAs. Additionally, this person willassume the role of the local Safety lead and work closely with Regional EHS.Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:- Ensuring parts inventory is received, processed, picked, packed, andshipped in a safe, efficient, accurate, and timely manner- Responding to dealer calls and making immediate decisions to resolve theissue- Contributing to the development of an effective work force by assigning,directing and motivating employees to conform, defined and documented processes- Providing necessary on the job training- Improving productivity and quality by taking ownership of the process- Leading teams working on problem resolution and process improvement- Maintaining high employee morale by ensuring basic elements of workdiscipline are delivered- Conducting daily Safety meetings and observing employees for unsafebehavior, and correcting behavior through counseling- Preparing and maintaining necessary paperwork for hourly payroll andattendance records- Limited travel required (Less than 5% of working time)- Standard Work author- Ensuring Safe Job Procedures are updated and reviewed accordingly- Performing Safety FMEAs on both current and new processes- Partners with other members of Management team in implementation of changesneeded to develop a sustained culture of safety first- Coordinates implementation of Continuous Improvements ideas relating tosafety- Chairs ZIP steering committee for facility and takes a lead role in definingand executing the facility safety vision- Represents facility on safety committees and special project withinCaterpillarBasic Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent- 3+ years of warehouse operations experience- 1+ years of supervisor and/or team lead experience- Previous experience with operating, purchasing, parts ordering and/orinventory management systemsTop Candidates Will Also Have:- Bachelor's Degree- Certified green belt in more than one 6 Sigma project- Strong CPS (Caterpillar Production System) knowledge- Previous experience participating in or leading safety teams/projects- Familiarity with authoring standard work- Ability to create Safe Job Procedures and manage the entire process- Understanding of Safety FMEAs- Strong leadership, initiative and people skills- Excellent interpersonal skills- Willingness to go off-shift and/or relocate as supervisor, assistantmanager, etc. as needed to continue developmentCaterpillar is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now orin the future require sponsorship for employment visa status; however, asa global company, Caterpillar offers many job opportunities outside of theU.S. which can be found through our employment website atwww.caterpillar.com/careersRelocation assistance is available for this position.EEO/AA Employer.
