RoadSafe recognizes andvalues divePosition Summary: RoadSafe is seeking an estimator who will team withmanagement in order to support strategic bidding and estimating for ourColorado operations for our highway striping and traffic control operations.This position will be responsible for sourcing, reviewing and responding torequests for bid and other opportunities as they relate to work for theColorado Department of Transportation, local municipalities and the privateindustry customers we serve.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:*Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, plans,specifications, and related documents for projects both inside andoutside public works arena.*Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studyingproposals, plans, specifications, and related documents.*Ability to prepare complex bids utilizing specialized estimatingsoftware. Proficiency with HCSS software systems is preferred.*Ability to gather and analyze historical cost and production modelspertaining to a specific scope of work required for bidding.*Be a representative of RoadSafe with its strategic partners, includingvendors and customers.*Demonstrate a strong understanding of the financial aspects of jobcosting and bid to actual results including variance analysis.*Have a good understanding of the various equipment utilized within thescope of the operation and the standard costs associated with each.*Ability to effectively communicate the scope of work, cost basis andmargin in the bid review process, including detailed cost components.*Ability to analyze historical results for market trends, labor andmaterial trends etc. and integrate into the final bid.*Ability to outline and relay pertinent information from successful bidsto project management team.*Demonstrate strong analytical and logic skills with attention to detailwhile simultaneously meeting project timelines.*Ability to effectively communicate with contractors to discuss andreview detailed scopes of work as well as cost comparisons.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:*Proficient in Excel and experience in using bidding software.*Experience and knowledge of Colorado road construction specifications.We are an Equal Employment Opportunity EmployerMinority/Female/Disability/VeteranPI97866078
