Lecturer-Chemistry for Engineers

The College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado Denver, has an open continuous posting to fill Lecturer positions on a per-semester basis to teach our introductory Chemistry for Engineers course. This undergraduate lecture and recitation course is designed to provide engineering students with a background in concepts and principles from chemistry. The course will highlight the application of chemistry to engineering disciplines. Topics include atoms, molecules, moles, stoichiometry, chemical bonding, atomic & molecular structures, thermodynamics and kinetics. This position may be renewed each semester based on need, funding and performance.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree from an accredited institution in chemistry,

biochemistry, chemical engineering or a closely related field

• Instructional experience and a record of high quality teaching at the University


Preferred Qualifications:

• A Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or closely related field

• Demonstrated experience teaching large lecture sections

• Experience developing lecture and laboratory curricula

• Familiarity with active learning pedagogies

• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations
