Our Texas/Mountain Region Structures Technical Excellence Center (TEC) has an immediate opening for a Senior Supervising Engineer to support our Structures group at our Denver, Colorado office. The Senior Supervising Engineer will focus on technical leadership/mentoring, business development, marketing, and project pursuits that will help to further strengthen our presence in the Colorado market as well as the Texas/Mountain region as a whole. This person will provide leadership to a talented group of professionals spanning all career levels as they work on a multitude of transportation projects. The Senior Supervising Engineer will rely upon Bridge and Structural Engineering background to excel at client relations, business development and mentoring staff.
A typical day may include supervising staff, advanced structuring engineering design and plan preparation, supervising project management tasks, meeting with clients and stakeholders, and providing oversight and/or management of the proposal preparation process.
The Senior Supervising Engineer role requires a minimum of 15 years of experience, a Bachelor of Science degree (Civil or Structural Engineering) from an ABET-accredited institution (a Master's degree is highly desirable) , and a current Colorado P.E. registration or ability to obtain P.E. within 6 months (an S.E. registration is highly desirable) . The right Candidate must also have:
Strong technical skills relevant to bridge/ structural design and analysis (post-tensioning experience is highly desirable)
Improve overall quality and delivery of projects throughout discipline.
Manages tasks as part of project development, including plan and report production.
Performs a range of marketing and business development activities, including gathering client intelligence, leading pursuits and proposals, and interfacing through professional organizations.
Helps lead growth and development of the structures engineering team, including interfacing with local/regional Area Managers, meeting with clients to develop and expand work, and strategically teaming with other consultants.
Interfaces with staff from a range of other disciplines (traffic, civil, planning, geotechnical, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects.
Assists in supporting agency coordination, permitting, and public participation activities.
Experience working on large, multi-discipline, infrastructure capital projects
Strong project management skills and experience
Experience with pursuing, leading and delivering Design-Build contracts
Working experience with marketing, business development, project pursuits, and proposal preparation
Experience mentoring and developing technical capabilities of mid-level and junior staff
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong (proven) management and interpersonal skills
Preference given to local candidates
The Senior Supervising Engineer (structures) must be able to excel in technical, business development, marketing, and project management roles. Experience working in the Colorado market area is a plus!
