POSITION SUMMARY:The position summary states the general nature and purpose of the job. Overallaccountabilities are defined in this section.Responsible for scheduling and entering pertinent data into the appointmentscheduling system for shipments to be delivered and picked up in a timelymanner. Additional responsibilities include; rescheduling missedappointments, double-checking route transit times for timeliness ofappointments, and assisting the Customer Service Representatives with anyissues or problems that arise. Works directly with Transportation Planners,Customer Service Representatives, Sales and Customers.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES AND TASKS:Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:1. Works directly with Customers to schedule appointments for load and loadpick-up deliveries, communicating via phone or email, and using theinternet to confirm and book the schedule.2. Enters appointments in the scheduling system, once appointments areconfirmed.3. Responsible for ensuring that appointments are timed and scheduled properlytaking into consideration the following; allowance for mileage (mileagecalculation), required driver breaks, specific requirements forlocations being scheduled (Receiving hours, protocols) and requiredlegal trans4.
