Title: Software Development Manager
Location: US-Colorado-Englewood - Corporate - USE1
The Software Development Manager will manage a small team of global developers. This individual will need to communicate with internal customers and stake holders on the software development progress. This position will report to Senior Director.
General Job Duties
§ Manage multiple software projects and teams members.
§ Contribute to and implement the strategic direction on architecture and process as defined by the IHS IT leadership for all software development projects
§ Partner and mentor internal customers and IT team members in using the Agile development process.
§ Capable of organizing team members on projects, organizing development tasks, and managing project schedules.
§ Capable of working with engineers with varying personalities, locations, and time zones.
§ Function as a strong contributor to the IT management team, participating in special projects and task forces as required.
§ Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values, philosophy and culture of the organization.
§ Perform other duties as required.
•Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
•10 years of experience in the information technology field.
•4 years of software development at a technical lead or supervisor level required
•Demonstrated ability in managing Agile software development practices
•Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
•Ability to successfully implement and control budgets.
•Hands on Database (Oracle is preferred or SQL Server) knowledge preferred, not required
•Data warehouse or ETL development management experience a plus, not required
•General understanding of oil and gas industry is a big plus, not required.
•Knowledge in Unix, PL/SQL, Pro*C, SQL, TOAD and related support tools, hands-on experience on these tools is a plus, not required.
•IBM Datastage experience is a plus but not a must.
•Organizational skills to facilitate a productive working environment.
