Jeppesen Sanderson, Inc. seeks a full-time Test Engineer in Englewood, Colorado to develop and execute software test plans, procedures and test reports in order to insure company’s software products and services comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. The Test Engineer also performs the following:
Participates in evaluation of test performance data. Collects the data and provides recommendation to break/alter configuration. Performs special test procedures as required to support failure investigation. Conducts reallocation, disposition or refurbishment of test assets.
Identifies anomalies and provides solutions. Performs the role of mentor for less experienced members of the team in demonstrating effective and efficient methods of test execution.
Interfaces with internal contacts, decomposes information from requirements and Statements of Work to formulate basic test approaches. Reviews standards and regulations to assess the impact on the test plan.
Applies expert judgment in demonstrating the effectiveness of test methods. Evaluates effectiveness of test methods and develops improved methods.
Prepares test and configuration documentation. Leads the staging of test hardware. Participates in test readiness reviews, safety reviews, test plan reviews and test case reviews. Configures software for data acquisition and analysis. Prepares daily execution plans for effective use of all test resources.
Leads the preparation of test reports.
Demonstrates strong communication skills and the ability to effectively convey technical test results to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
The Test Engineer will supervise 4 individuals.
This Test Engineer position requires a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or foreign degree equivalent; and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in each of the following:
Test engineering working with Structured Query Languages, creating complex joins and formatting the results in specific formats;
Software test engineering practices;
HP Application Lifecycle Manager to schedule and execute test automation, capture results, and create reports;
HP Unified Functional Test tool to create automated regression suites on graphical user interfaces, webs services, and server side functions;
Microsoft Office Suite including Word to create test plans and Excel to analyze data and create graphs representing that analysis;
Windows 7 using the embedded tools to monitor system performance while the application is under test; and
UNIX to edit files, change permissions, write scripts to automate functions, and monitor system performance while the application is under test.
Experience may be gained concurrently. In lieu of a Bachelor degree and 5 years of experience, will accept a Master degree and 3 years of experience as described above. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be willing to provide on-call after hours assistance (max 2 hours/month). Prevailing working conditions.
