JOB TITLE: Manager - Criminal Justice ServicesPosition requires the management of operations in one or more of theDepartment's Divisions, including; the management of residentialcommunity corrections, client programming and services; non-residentialservices that include day reporting services, pretrial services andelectronic monitoring services; administrative support services that includeinformation management systems, medical care, drug and alcohol testing,and eye retina screening, accounting and financial transactions andtreatment and education services. This position oversees the management andfacilitation of administrative support teams, security teams and case managemenREQUIREMENTS:Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, psychology, behavioralsciences, public administration, or a related field and three (3) ormore years of progressively responsible related experience.Any combination of education, training and experience which provides theknowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.Licenses and Certifications:Current CPR certification and Basic First Aid Certification (can be obtainedafter hire)CPAI (Crisis Intervention) CertificationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:This position requires standing, stooping, sitting, bending,twisting, and lifting up to 60 pounds.Occasional exposure of work time to hazardous situations which involvephysically violent persons, interviewing mentally or emotionally disturbedpersons or bodily injury from biohazards, infections, or blood-borne pathogens.Requires irregular hours and shifts including days, swings, graveyardshifts, weekends and holidays.DUTIES: Directs a team of administrative support, criminal justicesecurity, treatment, and case management staff by using progressive andprofessional team building, facilitation and problem solving skills.Plans, schedules, and assigns work; identifies staff training needs andprovides training in methods and procedures as appropriate; reviews progresstoward individual and programmatic goals and objectives; checks and approves woDevelops and implements procedures and critical management controls or actionsto protect the community, staff and clients according to establishedpolicy, procedures and industry standards.Carries out professional level management responsibilities that includerecruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training subordinate staff.Completes performance appraisals, addresses conflicts and resolvescomplicated and sensitive issues, including the handling of complaints andinternal investigations and makes formal recommendations to department directorParticipates in the research, development and implementation of long termcriminal justice programs.Interacts with other agencies and the public, including local Courts,Probation, Parole, District Attorney's Office and County officials.Program Development and Assessment contract development and administration,manages, coordinates, and administers one or more of the department'sseven divisions; manages and participates in the development andimplementation of program goals, objectives, and policies; assist indetermining and/or identifying program needs and assists in development ofannual program budget; assists in monitoring and tracking line itemexpenditures of approved budget.Plans, coordinates, and oversees team building activities of staff;informs staff of program changes; assists development of their individualstaff and work teams by providing individual and group support; activelyparticipates in planning meetings to develop program goals and objectives;Monitor team meetings by participation, observation and by reviewing team notesConducts and completes formal performance appraisals; recommends salaryadjustments according to county policy, continuously reviews progress towardindividual and programmatic goals and objectives; provides regular feedbackto Directors regarding achievements, strengths, deficiencies, anddesired improvements.When direct
