Duties include setting up starter/cold food stations for the tray assembly line; prepares beverages with appropriate utensils according to number of servings required; assembles and prepares fresh fruit or green salads, and cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients; portions other food items; serves on tray assembly line at starter/cold food stations placing condiments, beverages, and cold foods on trays in strict conformance with menu and diet card/tray tickets; delivers assembled trays to patients' bedside tables, or dining tables. Delivers bulk nourishments to units; inventories and replenishes the refrigerator according to established procedure and par level; breaks down and cleans work area and equipment during use and upon completion of assignment. Cleans, sanitizes equipment such as tables, tray delivery and retrieval carts, steam kettles, etc. Sorts, pre-rinses, soaks, scours, scrubs, and racks dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, utensils, etc.

Physical Requirements: Incumbents work assignments require light to moderate physical activity, and heavy work such as scouring and scrubbing large size cooking utensils, pushing/pulling loaded tray carts to and from ward areas. Work on ladders and using powered cleaning equipment is required. There is continuous standing and walking with frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling. There is frequent moving and/or lifting of objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and, occasionally, over 50 pounds.
