Job Title : Senior Software Engineer
Department: Software Development
Reports to : Manager of Software Development
Position Summary: In an agile and highly collaborative environment, the Senior Software Engineer is responsible for working in a team environment to build software to meet user story and business objectives. The software developer will work at each stage of the application development lifecycle from clarifying acceptance criteria, to development, through QA, and into production. The software developer will work with all tiers of the application from database design, data access layer, business layer, and UI layers. Additionally, the software developer will provide support for IT operations of hosting environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Business Analyst and stakeholders to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
Develop high quality web software applications to meet business needs.
Design, create, and modify databases, stored procedures, jobs, and reports.
Apply set of development standards.
Participate in code reviews and all SCRUM activities.
Follow application development best practices including Agile, ALM, and source control.
Write detailed technical and end user documentation.
Deploy developed applications as needed or work with QA and change control processes.
Support IT operations of hosting environment including server maintenance, operating systems, network issues, configurations, data backups, etc.
Maintain development, QA and production environments as needed.
Mentor and train other development and support staff.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent experience. Industry certifications are preferred.
5 years of experience in system analysis, design, development and testing in .Net environment
Proficient in any front-end framework (Foundation, Bootstrap, Gumby)
SQL Server and MySQL experience
Mobile development, web services, and working knowledge of HTML5 preferred
Experience with cross-browsers compatibility testing
Performance optimization skills
Experience with Microsoft TFS or other source code and defect management system
Experience deploying applications to test and/or Windows production environments
Experience in using automated build servers, and automated deployments
Windows and Linux server administration
Knowledgeable in developing for Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android operating systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional teamwork skills.
Be adaptable and able to pick up new techniques
Have great interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Must be thorough, precise, and detail oriented
Ability to plan, prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced environment to meet business objectives.
