This position will support 3 oncology clinics in the Denver Metro area:

Mile High Oncology - Littleton

Cypress Hematology & Oncology - Parker

Cypress Hematology & Oncology - Porter

SCHEDULE:

Monday - Friday, days

SHIFT:

This is a per requested need (PRN) position requiring variable hours each week.

Occasional travel to other sites to meet the needs of the clinic may be required.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the management of the drug automated distribution system (Pyxis System), answers all questions and issues concerning the system. The Pyxis System Supervisor will be responsible for the ordering and maintaining of all drugs and supplies needed for the oncology practice, sensitive to cost and meeting the yearly drug budget. The coordinator will be responsible for mixing chemotherapy daily for all treatment patients and will also assist in drug prior authorizations with insurance companies. The coordinator will demonstrate technical skill level in utilizing a variety of pharmaceutical competencies including, but not limited to, calculations, aseptic technique and cytotoxic drug precautions in compliance with hospital regulations.

MINIMUM EDUCATION / CREDENTIALS / LICENSE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of three years Chemometherapy drug mixing experience.

  • Completion of an Accredited Technician training course may not be substituted for experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Light work - (Exert up to 20lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 10lbs frequently)
