Principal Engineer (172196)Design Engineering LeadTheSeagate team in Longmont, CO is seeking a Principal Design EngineeringLead tojoin our team. You will be responsiblefor defining and executing theproduct design and technical strategy, andresolving technical and processissues. With a cross functional team representing Engineering,Materials,Firmware, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing, this impactfulrole ensures thatgoals are met for time-to-market, time-to-volume,quality, reliability,development expense and product cost.Job Description* Drives the Engineering team's decision-makingprocess around criticalpriorities. Communicatesdecisions to site management and the functionalorganizations.* Makes tradeoff recommendations and decisionsfor the program betweentechnical, customer and business needs based onfunctional team and core teaminputs.* Coordinates delivery of product againstcustomer requirements including riskassessments and go/no go deliveryrecommendations.* Aligns product technical targets with customerneeds and internal technologydevelopment plans.* Provideskey Factory integration support which will require overseas travel.* Customer interactions required for newproduct design reviews, qualityissues and yields.QualificationsEssential FunctionsLeadership - sets and achieves performance goals.
