JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Informatics Specialist is the key Information Technology Department resource for clinical areas representing specific applications throughout the organization and acts as a liaison for issues that involve Clinical areas and applications that share functionality. Leads the design, build, testing, support, maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned software applications and systems. Serves as a liaison between customers, Information Technology staff and vendors for clinical software support issues.
Additionally, the Clinical Informatics Specialist will act as a point of contact for physicians and Clinical staff to reference as necessary. This will include, but is not limited to, training on CPOE, documentation, process workflow and other functionality regarding necessary clinical information systems.
EDUCATION:
Bachelors Degree in Clinical Profession or Computer Technology Preferred
Bachelors in Nursing Preferred
EXPERIENCE:
§ Five years Acute-Care Clinical experience
§ One year Clinical Informatics experience
§ Process Improvement experience preferred
§ Candidates must also be able to coordinate user groups, determine requirements and follow initiatives through to completion
§ Cerner Millennium experience in a fully digital EMR environment including CPOE and clinical documentation strongly preferred
