SCL Health Financial Services Manager in Wheat Ridge, Colorado

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This position reports to the Vice President of Finance for ExemplaLutheran Medical Center. This position is responsible for managing the fiscaland business office departments for West Pines Behavioral Health, ColoradoLutheran Home/Colorado Lutheran Apartments, and Collier Hospice Center(the entities). This position also serves as a finance leader to themanagement team and staff of these entities. SPECIFIC DUTIES: * Directs and supervises the daily operations of the fiscaland business office areas of the entities. Including supervision of thefollowing functions: * Admitting/registration office functions with accounts receivable,credit and collections. * Posting, billing and collection operations. * Directs and controls the collection of monies and the control andprocessing of the business office function. * Assess payor performance, payor profitability, contractmodeling, contract compliance * Coordinate revenue optimization opportunities with managed care, CBOand operations * Perform analysis and provide necessary communications specific to netrevenue performance as reported on interim/annual financial statements * Coordinate regulatory filings specific to Medicare/Medicaid programs * On site accounting and accounts payable processes. * Maintains appropriate internal control safeguards over accountingfunctions. * Attends a variety of meetings with management and department staff toreview and discuss financial matters. * Consults with and assists the Administrator and Vice President inestablishing the annual financial budget. * Analyzes budget variance and recommends corrective action to theAdministrator and Vice President. * Analyzes capital expenditures and financial plans and providesrecommendations as requested. * Prepares various financial analyses and reports as requested,including recommendations for change. * Oversee daily productivity of operating units. * Participates in development of department objectives and management ofstaff. * Completes the selection and training of assigned staff. * Completes with performance evaluation and recommends meritincreases, promotions and disciplinary actions. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related fieldor equivalent. * Five years general accounting, finance or budgetingexperience required, preferably in a healthcare environment. * Three years supervisory preferred. * Excellent interpersonal skills * High proficiency in Microsoft Excel LEADERSHIP REQUIREMENTS: * High emotional intelligence * Entrepreneurial Spirit and strong business savvy * Effective communication style * Courageous in character and ability to challenge in an effectivemannerSCL Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
