Job Description:

The Plant Maintenance Electrician must have the necessary experience, aptitude, and education to perform electrical duties such as repairs, set-up, adjustment, troubleshooting, P.M. inspections, replacements and overhaul to make equipment improvements and repairs as necessary. Proficient with PLC’s, VFD’s, electrical controls, relay logic and software. Advanced Computer skills required. Must qualify as Electrical Worker. This position also requires a strong mechanical aptitude and experience.

Requires troubleshooting electrical systems using ladder logic, electrical prints and/or schematics. Responsible for electrical systems under 600 volts for all plant assets.

Works as an Electrician and Mechanic in widely skilled craft role. Assists in the training of new employees and trainees. Performs all work in a safe manner demonstrating proper use of safety equipment and PPE at all times. Requires interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with all teams across the organization.

RMBC employs approximately 260 people.


Education / Certification: Post High School - Post Secondary Education in Electrical / Controls

Related Work Experience: 7+ to 10 years - minimum of 5 years as an Electrical / Controls Technician

Skilled in working relationships, team building and communication with all levels of plant personnel.

Possesses the ability to continuously learn new controls systems, troubleshooting techniques.

This position also requires a strong mechanical aptitude and experience to be effective in this role.

Candidates must be proficient in controls programming, troubleshooting and diagnostic repair of controls systems (such as PLC5, SLC500, ControlLogix, DeviceNet, Profibus, Intellution iFix, Panel View software, current and legacy O-I MCS, VFD’s of various manufactures, relay logic and controls wiring).

Additional Candidate requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older.

• HS diploma or GED required.

• Industrial Journeyman level and/or on-the-job experience in a heavy industrial, high speed production

Electrical/electronic/controls field.

• Must be experienced to work safely with power up to and including 480 volts.

• Able to work in team environment and flow to electrical and mechanical work within Plant.
