UCAR/NCAR willnot sponsor a work visa (e.g., J-1, H1-B, etc.) for this position.About the Organization:Located in Boulder, Colorado, the National Center for Atmospheric Research(NCAR) is one of the world's premier scientific institutions, with aninternationally recognized staff and research program dedicated to advancingknowledge, providing community-based resources, and building humancapacity in the atmospheric and related sciences.Job Overview:This position will serve as the Visitor Coordinator for the ResearchApplications Laboratory, which hosts approximately 200 visitors each year.This position will work closely with numerous RAL staff members who hostvisitors, with ASP for visits to RAL by graduate students and professors,and with SOARS and the Early Career Scientists' Assembly in managingvisitors they fund to come to RAL. Visitors are also selected and funded by acentralized RAL Visitor Committee; the new hire will serve as theadministrator for that group, staffing committee meetings and managing thebudget. For all visitors, regardless of fund source, this positionmanages the full spectrum of details associated with each visit: developingoffer letters with the host; securing computing support from RAL IT;ensuring compliance with export and information security requirements with theRAL ECC; resolving visa and housing issues with HR; and ensuring that ourfinancial obligations to visitors (e.g., for travel, temporary livingreimbursements, etc.) are met. While the majority of time is devoted tovisitor coordination, the new hire also provides general administrativesupportResponsibilities:Manages the RAL Visitor Program, serving as a single point of contact forhosts and visitors. Understands, interprets and ensures compliance withrelevant UCAR visitor policies and procedures; serves as an expert resourcefor Laboratory staff, answering questions and providing guidance on visitorissCollaborates with hosts to write offer letters that define the nature andlength of the visit and detail the level of financial support to be providedDevelops budgets to help hosts understand visit costs and identify appropriatefunding sourcesCoordinates with HR to ensure that appropriate visas are acquired/extendedMakes travel arrangements and ensures reimbursements at the end of visitsWorks with UCAR Housing, outside housing agencies and local hotels to meetvisitors' housing needsCompletes and processes all required visitor forms (e.g., V1, V2, andV3 forms for HR and export compliance and non-disclosure forms for RAL)Coordinates with RAL IT to ensure that visitors will have the computingequipment and accounts they need; participates in monthly meetings to reviewprocesses and procedures and to address problemsCoordinates with RAL office space coordinator to ensure that visitors haveappropriate office spaceMaintains a master list of all visitors to RAL; works with HR to ensure thatvisitor metrics are correctProvides support to the RAL Visitor Committee which conducts a competitiveprocess for awarding base funding to visitors. Attends committee meetings,sends out calls for visitor requests, and manages the centralizedbase-funded visitor budgetProvides task direction to other administrative staff who may support theCoordinator during peak visitor periodsServes as the liaison with ASP, SOARS, and Early Career Scientists'Assembly for visitors selected by those programs to work with RAL scientists.Coordinates with staff in those programs to ensure that visitor needs areanticipated and met.Provides general administrative support for the Lab, including but notlimited to:Coordinates with outside employment agencies to hire or payrol
