Reports to the Southern Ready Mix General Manager. Willlead and grow all aspects of ready mix production in the southern Coloradoarea. This includes managing all aspects of safety, production, and othersupport functions with primary responsibility for ensuring effective executionof production performance and growth strategy. The preferred candidatecan lead and motivate within a safe team environment.Essential Functions* Cultivates a positive safety culture in assigned operations by championingGuardian Angel and Wing Man principles and philosophy. Builds individualaccountability and rewards/recognition into safety approach.* Ensures daily coordination between production, delivery, distributionand quality control.* Directs production activities to ensure strict adherence to cost and qualitystandards and takes immediate corrective action when deficiencies are noted;achieves production targets as directed by General Manager.* Provides leadership resulting in maximum production, working closely withSales Manager and Dispatch Lead to exceed customer expectations, ensureproduct quality and drive maximum profitability.* Provides direction to Plant Operators to ensure efficiency, quality,service, and cost-effective management of resources.* Builds effective teams and develop direct reports for futureopportunities, including cross-training for asphalt paving and aggregatebusiness.* Ensures that all personnel under their supervision comply with Federal,State and local regulations.* Ensures company safety rules and regulations are met through periodicinspections of plant machinery, equipment, personal activities and workingconditions.* Drives operational and safety performance through continuous improvementinitiatives that meet or exceed company and regional goals.* Develops and nurtures empowerment in all phases of the operation.* Maintains optimum raw material inventories at all locations to meet plannedvolumes.* Responsible for coordinating raw materials shipments to ensure costeffective inventories.* Responsible for overseeing month end inventories.* Responsible for maintaining updated Hazcom and other environmental recordsand permits for assigned operations. Responsible for compliance and alladministration related to environmental regulations. Coordinates environmentalissues with Land and Environmental department.* Directs the selection, training and development of production and deliverypersonnel - appraises performance of subordinates and takes/recommendsappropriate personnel actions as necessary.* Recommends management development and necessary training programs for alldirect reports* Purchases or directs the purchase of supplies and equipment in accordancewith company policy- recommends or changes vendors to reduce maintenancecosts.* I
