DESCRIPTIONAt Amazon Web Services (AWS), we're hiring highly technicalcloud computing architects to collaborate with our customers and partners onkey engagements. Our consultants will develop and deliver proof-of-conceptprojects, technical workshops, and support implementation projects. Theseprofessional services engagements will focus on customer solutions such asHPC, batch data processing, Big Data and Business intelligence. This rolewill specifically focus on Data processing capabilities and helping ourcustomers and partners to remove the constraints that prevent our customersfrom leveraging their data to develop business insights.Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers andpartners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer baseand are obsessed about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaboratesacross the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and serviceteams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovationbased upon customer needs.Responsibilities include:* Expertise - Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training andsupport teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services suchas Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Data Pipeline, S3,DynamoDB NoSQL, Relational Database Service (RDS), Elastic Map Reduce(EMR) and Amazon Redshift.* Solutions - Deliver on-site technical engagements with partners andcustomers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits,understanding customer requirements, creating consulting proposals andcreating packaged Big Data service offerings.* Delivery - Engagements include short on-site projects proving the use of AWSservices to support new distributed computing solutions that often spanprivate cloud and public cloud services. Engagements will include migration ofexisting applications and development of new applications using AWS cloudservices.Amazon aims to be the most customer centric company on earth. Requires you to relocate or be local to theDenver, CO region.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS* BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; ComputerScience or Math background preferred* 5+ years' experience of IT platform implementation in a highly technicaland analytical role.* Customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer'senvironment and drive discussions with senior personnel regardingtrade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation* Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, andtechnical challenges in an enterprise environment.* Deep understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industryincluding MPP databases, noSQL storage, Data Warehouse design, BIreporting and Dashboard development.* Implementation and tuning experience for Apache Hadoop + tools such as Pigand Hive.* Current hands-on implementation experience required; individualcontributors only need apply.* Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to leadeffectively across organizations.Ability to travel to client locations when needed.
