The Role The Senior Payroll Specialist position is responsible for accuratelyprocessing bi-weekly payroll, garnishments, tax reporting,reconciliations and audits with a high degree of integrity, confidentialityand professionalism. This role reports to the Payroll Manager. Key Accountabilities * Prepare and coordinate bi-weekly multi-state payroll for approximately800 employees * Collect, compile, and enter payroll data into the ADP Vantagepayroll system * Enter and audit payroll batches for various special earnings * Review and verify the accuracy of time information from ADP eTimesystem and field offices * Review and verify the accuracy of employee data changes in the ADPVantage system * Investigate, reconcile and correct payroll data issues,discrepancies and errors * Calculate gross up on earnings as needed. Calculate gross pay,deductions and net pay for reissued checks * Ensure payroll integrity through audit reports, data analysis andcollaboration with other team members * Accurately process payroll by established deadlines * Ensure all checks are distributed to the proper location byestablished dates * Timely and accurately prepare on-demand checks for terminations,retro-adjustments and other disbursements determined to be necessary forimmediate distribution * Reconcile employee deductions, including union dues deductions * Coordinate and administer Wage Garnishment orders in accordance withfederal and state regulations * Prepare and print payroll reports of earnings, hours worked,taxes, insurance, leave, 401k, etc., as needed * Process benefit deposits for FSA and 401k * Back-up other payroll team members for weekly, Puerto Rico or Canadapayrolls, as needed * Interact with employees at all levels. Address employee'spay-related concerns and provide payroll information in a friendly,courteous and accurate manner * Complete requests for pay-related documents including statements andverifications * Develop, manage and maintain comprehensive payroll records and teammember information in a very confidential manner * Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax and wage &hour laws, regulations or guidelines * Stay current with system updates and changes as well as changes withwage and tax laws * Assist with ongoing set up, testing and maintenance of the payrolland HRIS system * Balance current payroll tax and taxable to the year-to-date W2 boxtotals and resolve variances to minimize year end corrections * Assist Payroll Manager with the preparation of State and Federalquarterly and annual tax returns, W-2s * Assist Payroll Manager with preparing for annual Pension, WC andyear end audits * Assist as a liaison between payroll and other departments includingthe accounting department * Assist, when necessary, with filing, boxing, moving, andstoring files and records * Assist with the preparation and distribution of payroll relatedcommunications and forms as requested * Assist with documentation of payroll processes and procedures * All other duties as assigned Skills & Experience * Bachelor Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience * 5 years administering payroll in a high volume, multi state,multi-company, union environment * CPP certification hig
