Web Content & Services Management Denver, CO The National Geospatial Program provides leadership for USGS geospatialcoordination, production and service activities. The Program engagespartners to develop standards and produce consistent and accurate data throughits Geospatial Liaison Network. Operational support is provided by theNational Geospatial Technical Operations Center (NGTOC). These and otherProgram activities that are essential to the National Spatial DataInfrastructure (NSDI) are managed as a unified portfolio that benefitsgeospatial information users throughout the Nation. The NGTOC providesessential support for the USGS and the Nation in the acquisition andmanagement of trusted geospatial data, products, and services, throughworld-class geospatial technical expertise and customer service. The NGTOCsupports The National Map (TNM) among other related efforts. We are looking for a qualified individual to provide system administrationsupport for NGTOC. Responsibilities: * Participate in maintaining an inventory of all web instances that arethe responsibility of the NGTOC. The inventory should include everythingrelated to a web presence including hardware/OS, web server softwareversion, middleware, and backend database. Network information IP andproxy should also be included as well as a description of the web site's useand audience. * External/public websites should be kept in a separate inventory fromprivate/internal sites. * Assist content managers in migrating and maintaining websites to USGSDrupal. * Diagnose problems associated with designated systems, associatedsoftware, applications, and services when they occur. * Develop, recommend, and/or implement effective, efficient,innovative, and timely solutions to support customer needs. * Serve as subject matter expert on issues pertaining to web servicesand content management/editing (installation, configuration,analysis, testing, development, implementation, and maintenance). * Evaluate customer's system requirements, solicit newrequirements, and implement new system features as needed. Edit contentbased on subject matter expert input and requests made through SOP. * Documentation of support will be completed in NGTOC standard softwaretools including Remedy and Manage Engine Service Desk Plus. Changes will beapproved by the IT Change Advisory Board (CAB) and documented in currentticketing application (Manage Engine Service Desk Plus). * Ensure that all web content meets all regulatory standards such as 508compliance, privacy requirements, etc. Reviews content to ensure that itmeets requirements and policies. Answers all data calls for securitycompliance of websites using previously gathered inventory information.Participate in security remediation activities performed by the Web Group andsystem administrators. * Stay abreast of current system/software technology and bestpractices and research new technologies to assure that USGS requirements aresatisfied. * Execute monthly IT security patch updates within the USGS definedtimeframes, unless otherwise approved by NGTOC Security Manager. * Participate in IT security re-certification and re-accreditation ofthe system.
