The Water Resources Management Division (WRMD) of RTI International is ateam of water resources engineers and scientists that provide environmentalscience solutions and leading-edge technology products to address theincreasing demand for environmental decision support in an ever-changingworld. WRMD s vision is To bea global leader in water security; providing sustainable solutions througheffe This candidate will lead a team responsible for developing and executingour water resources business development strategy within RTI's Environmentand Health Sciences (EHS) Research unit. Responsibilities will includeleading business development, establishing and maintaining key client andpartner relationships, and directing proposal activity from early capturephases through proposal submission. Successful candidates identify,qualify, and capture new business opportunities as necessary to achievegrowth goals for the division. This position will be based Fort Collins,CO, RTP, NC or Washington, DC. This person will support WRMD staff in a range of activities to develop apipeline of potential opportunities with a high probability to win includingbut not limited to: * Directing a team to develop and implement a long-term water resourcesbusiness development strategy encompassing both domestic and internationalmarkets * Maintaining accountability for reaching sales, revenue, and growthtargets * Leading, planning, preparing, and reviewing major proposals * Providing vision and direction to the business development team * Developing relationships with new and current clients to investigatenew opportunities * Providing direct supervision and direction to business development team * Tracking and evaluating emerging market opportunities and identifyingpathways to organizational growth beyond existing capacities * Understanding of the competitive landscape and developing strategies tochallenge key competitors * Establishing and maintaining relationships with partnerorganizations, technical and trade associations, and government agenciesas well as existing and target customers * Attending conferences, symposia and other professional meetings tocommunicate RTI capabilities and experience, broadening external contacts,and track market trends * Providing oversight of Account Management functions and mentoring staffas necessary to enhance business development activities MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * Master s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, NaturalResources, Business or other related field and 14 years of businessdevelopment experience in the environmental sector or equivalent educationexperience (PhD and 10 years or Bachelor s degree and 20 years). Focus ina water resources domain (hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodforecasting, reservoir operations, watershed sciences, water qualitymanagement, and climate risk/migration) is a plus. * Demonstrated track record of substantial revenue growth throughbusiness development, proposal development, and/or project / programmanagement. * Proven ability to effectively plan and implement strategic businessplans, including formation and cultivation of strategic alliances in theenvironmental/ water resources sector. * Experience working with and demonstrated understanding of internationaland domestic funding agencies preferred. * Ability to monitor, report, and evaluate opportunities and ROI s,conduct gate r
