Oversees daily operations of the donations receiving area and thrift storeoperations.Communicates need for supplies in store and donations, or additionaltrash/salvage pick-ups to the Facilities & Operations Director.Adheres to the policies of the Center and explains them to customers,donors, volunteers and community service workers as needed.Responsible for the organization, appearance and safety of DonationsDepartment and the Thrift Store, directs staff, volunteers and communityservice workers to maintain expected level of organization, cleanliness andsafUnderstands that our appearance to donors is important and keeping anorganized and clean donations drop off and entryway is essential to donorhappiness and safety.Regularly visits the thrift store and communicates with store staff aboutmerchandise needs, and to see what sections are empty/what is overstockedin order to aid in thrift store appearance and overall store success.Communicates goals and expectations to their teams to ensure that Donationsand the store are running efficiently.Aims to keep high morale in their department (which can be stressful andoverwhelming) through staff appreciation treats/gifts or offering regularpersonal thanks and recognition to hardworking staff.Able to work in other departments as needed for coverage in the event ofillnesses or vacations.Treats all donors with courtesy- accepts donations, offers receipt, andthanks the donor.Understands the electronics recycling fees and is able to explain this changeto donors (2013).Assists with Sorting and pricing donations when needed. Moves carts ofdonations to the holding area to be stocked and moved furniture directly outonto the sales floor (or directs a volunteer/community service worker tostock furniture).Understands the recycling/salvage process and what can be salvaged vs.thrown away.Supervises volunteers and community service workers in the donations area(and in the thrift store when assisting in that department).Ensures the facility is clean, utilizing community service workers to do themajority of the work.Ensures the outside of the facility and parking areas are clean and free ofdebris and donations, utilizing community service workers to do the majorityof the work and keep donations from overflowing to the outside of thebuilding.Assists customers and donors with loading and unloading of merchandise,offers receipt, and thanks donors.Assists the driver(s) by helping to unload the truck and prices donationsthat are unloaded upstairs as soon as possible to ensure quick turnover ofmerchandise and increased sales.Brings items of interest to management to research value to ensure accuratepricing.Builds and maintains quality, effective working relationships with internaland external customers.Acts with customers and donors in mind and is dedicated to meeting theirexpectations.Promotes and demonstrates teamwork and cooperation.Immediately advises supervisor of significant and unexpected problems ormaintenance issues.Strives for process improvement of systems and procedures, safety bestpractices.Assists with loss prevention in the donations area (and in thrift store whenassisting in that department). Reports any suspicious behavior, incidentsor theft, or unauthorized possession/removal of SCCC property.Demonstrates responsible use of SCCC Information Technology equipment andadheres to SCCC IT protocolsAfter 90 days, conducts community service orientation one to three timesweekly.Other duties as needed or assigned.High School diploma or GEDTwo to Three year s retail store experienceOne to Two year s supervisory experienceExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent organizational skillsBasic Computer skills E-Mail system, Microsoft Office, databaseDesired Qualifications:Fluency in Spanish.Fluency in SpanishAdditional college education coursesExperience in implementing Safety Best PracticesPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Able to lift up to 50 Lbs with assistance from team membersConstant Standing,
