181331 Engineering Specialist III (Open)Seagate is looking for an Engineering Specialist III to join our Cloud SystemsQuality organization in Longmont, CO. The Engineering Specialist providestechnical support for Seagate's OEM customers' on reported issues. Theywork collaboratively with L3 & L4 Cloud system Support engineers and userson the highest level of escalations.For this role the hours of support would be Monday - Friday 8:00AM -5:00pm. The hours are subject to change with or without notice at the solediscretion of Seagate.A day in the life:Lead technical support discussions with customers on Seagate Cloud Systemsproducts - primarily over the telephone and through emailWork closely with development and quality assurance to ensure customer productissues are resolved appropriatelyProvide effective and timely communication to customers and support teamsMaintain knowledge base and other knowledge transfer systemsIntegrate technical knowledge and business understanding to recreate customerreported issues in a lab environmentConsult with team members, other organizations, customers, andengineering on complex issuesAssist less-experienced team members on complex incidentsMay require some travel (less than 10%)About you:High school graduate or equivalent with 2-5 years of experience in technicalproduct support1 - 3 years minimum of demonstrated experience in storage networkingfundamentals, concepts, and components, including storage subsystems;SCSI, Fiber Channel, iSCSI, HBAsDemonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows and UNIX operating systemsExcellent communications skills (written and verbal)Demonstrated ability to work with multiple level internal and externalcustomersAbility to coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize tasksAttention to detailSelf- starterPreferred Qualifications:Associates degree in Computer ScienceWorking experience on switches, virtualization, and file systems.Knowledge of network security, switching, routing/routing protocols,IP, firewalls, and VPN/s.Working knowledge of programming and scripting languages: C, PERL, SSHPresent in front of small or mid-sized groups of internal stakeholders andcustomers.Job Family: Operations SupportSeagate Technology is committed to equal opportunity in employment andwelcomes applications from all sections of the community, irrespective ofsex, marital status, religious affiliation, age, disability, veteranstatus, or ethnic origin
