You won't be sorry.OBJECTIVE:Coordinate social, recreational, purposeful and spiritual activities toresidents, whose needs include psychological, physical and cognitivechallengesQUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below arerepresentative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonableaccommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to performthe essential functions.* Bachelor's Degree in therapeutic recreation; or bachelor's degree withmajor concentration in a human service area; or completion of a CertifiedOccupational Therapy Assistant program.* Minimum two (2) years experience in a management position in a healthcare setting.* If operating company vehicle you must be 21 years of age and meet the MVRorganization standards.* Able to understand and follow procedures, work assignments, instructionsand prepare reports and documentation.* Ability to work with varying levels of responsiveness.* Must possess a high level of flexibility and tolerance to adjust to change sin workloads, assignments, hours and days (i.e., weekends,evenings, holidays, etc.).* Ability to teach and train on the use of the internet and have a knowledgebase of computer programs such as internet explorer and e-mail systems.* Previous activities/programming experience of one (1) year. Knowledgebase of Alzheimer's dementia and related memory loss.* Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such astimekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.* Able to meet the requirements identified in Essential Functions.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enableindividuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* Designs and implements a lifestyle plan for the entire building, includingmonthly scheduling of activities for entire building and maintaining a supplyof inventory of necessary materials.Programs should include the following:- Physical activities (e.g., exercise, walks, group exercise withobjects such as ball, parachute, etc.);- Arts and crafts;- Educational (e.g., news and current events);- Spiritual;- Special events (e.g., holiday parties, etc.);- Outings and trips;- Life skills (e.g., meal set up, dusting, folding/sortingclothing, sewing on buttons, etc.).* Responsible for the direction and training of Home Health Aides inimplementing programs as designed fo r the special program areas. This will bein coordination with administrative staff.* Manages monthly and yearly budgets for departments.* Attends training offered by the National Services office or otherorganizations (e.g., Alzheimer's Association) in programming andcreative ideas for an activity-focused philosophy.* Responsible for the IN2L (It's Never 2 Late) system and training theResidents on the program incorporating the use of the internet and e-mailsyste* Coordinate all activities surrounding recruitment and planning for volunteerparticipation, including volunteer recruitment, training, job assignmentand recognition.* Responsible for the creation of the monthly resident newsletter and ensuringdistribution to all in the building as well as resident family members.* Other projects as assigned by the Residence Director.Job RequirementsWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative ofthose an employee may encounter whi
